The Texas Longhorn Safari is the perfect way to see, and learn about the fascinating history of these historical and magnificent cattle. They are direct descendents of the millions of Texas Longhorns that walked in the great trail herds from Texas in the late 1800's. Get up close (and sometimes personal) to the spectacular herd of genuine full-blood Texas Longhorns including the longest horned cattle in Australia. Also includes: Aussie bush smoko (morning tea) under the big shade trees at the homestead, Longhorn Love Shack Tour & JR Gallery of Horns.

An unforgettable Experience! The Texas Longhorn Safari is the perfect way to see up close and learn the fascinating history of these historical and spectacular cattle. They are direct descendents of the millions of Texas Longhorns that walked in the great trail herds from Texas in the late 1800's.

Get up close (and sometimes personal) the spectacular herd of genuine full-blood Texas Longhorns including the longest horned cattle in Australia. There are also Asian Water Buffalo, American Bison, Mexican Sardo Negro, Indian Gyr, African Ankole Watusi and Scottish Highland cattle. A bovine experience like no other!

An unforgettable part of this unique experience is the tour of the ‘The Longhorn Love Shack’. You will also get to see the brand new ‘JR Gallery of Horns’ including our own Guinness World Record horned steer on display. Finish your visit off with a delicious Aussie Bush smoko (morning tea) under the big shade trees at the homestead

Payment - No seats on the Wagon or Safari Rangers will be reserved without full payment.

Children - In the event that a Safari is fully booked, children under 2 years old (who are free) will not be allocated a seat of their own and will need to sit on a parent or carers lap. Our experiences are done at a gentle and sedate pace and are safe. if you have any questions or concerns with this please contact us before booking.

Cancellations - Every effort will be made to maintain the advertised timetable but unforeseen circumstances may mean we have to re-schedule. In the rare event of this occurring you will be advised with as much time as possible so as to cause minimum inconvenience.

Refunds - If we have to cancel the experience due to situations beyond our control, we will do our best to find an alternative time that suits you. If this is not possible, you will be refunded (using the payment method that your booking was made with).
In the event of you wanting to change your booking date we will do our best to help, subject to availability, up to 24 hours before your scheduled tour. If you just 'don’t turn up' on the time you are booked we cannot provide an alternative or a refund for a missed experience.

Risk - Participation on our tours and experiences is at your own risk. We do maintain a very high safety standard but if you are concerned about age, physical or medical conditions for any of our experiences, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your situation.

Dietary Requirements - All of our experiences includes smoko or lunch and we will do our best to supply food that suits your dietary needs. Special dietary requirements must be notified at the time of booking. Please use 'Notes' field on booking form.

Complaints - If you have any complaints at all during your visit, please let one of us at Texas Longhorn Tours know as we will do our best to rectify the matter. We are a small family business who take immense pride in what we do but on very rare occasions ‘things don't go according to plan’ so don’t hesitate to talk to us.

Photos and Video - We are happy for you to take as many photos as you want. In regard to video - we’d prefer you keep that to a minimum. By all means take some video but we’d appreciate it if you were reasonable about and not video all of our commentary. There is to be NO video taping or recording of our Texas Longhorn History video presentation display.
We may take photos for social media and promotional purposes. Please don’t hesitate to let us if you have any objection to your image being used.

Pets - Due to the nature of our attraction and the different animals on display, we no longer allow pets at Leahton Park. We did allow pets here for the last ten years or so but due to several incidents, unfortunately we can no longer have pets on the property. Gold City Vet Clinic, Charters Towers will be happy to ‘mind your pets’ for the few hours you are here.
